At Lipotype, you’ll find people from all kinds of cultural backgrounds and across different generations. Tereza Polášková, originally from Turnov, the Czech Republic, is one of the Gen Z team members here. So, what’s it like to work at Lipotype as part of the Gen Z generation? Let’s get to know Tereza and hear her point of view!
From Studying and Working in the Czech Republic to Building a Career in Germany

Tereza got an early start on her career thanks to a unique high school program at Škoda Auto, which opened the door for her to begin working and studying right after high school graduation. In 2020, she joined the Škoda Academy department at Škoda Auto, where she was responsible for a range of tasks that demanded strong organizational skills as an Assistant. Wanting to continue her education, she simultaneously pursued a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Management at Škoda Auto University, Mladá Boleslav, the Czech Republic.
After working at Škoda Auto for two years, she moved to Dresden, Germany to join her boyfriend and started working at the Volkswagen Transparent Factory. When she later came across a job opening at Lipotype looking for a new sales assistant, the role immediately caught her attention because the responsibilities aligned perfectly with her strengths and passion, which are planning, organizing, and executing projects professionally. Since joining Lipotype, she has been successfully applying her organizational skills to support the sales team through various back-office tasks and now serves as the main contact for the sample shipment process.
How does Lipotype support the sample shipping process?
Each shipment requires specific documentation, and Lipotype assist with all required forms, tracking and ensuring that shipments clear customs without unnecessary delays.
Supporting our customers from all over the world, we have also developed detailed shipment guidelines based on whether the samples come from within or outside the EU.
What Stood Out to Tereza About Working at Lipotype
One of the first things she noticed was how much Lipotype genuinely cares about its people – their growth, and sense of purpose at work. What also made a big impression on her was Kai Simons, the founder and CEO. Even with a generational difference, his leadership and professionalism really inspired her, and she could immediately sense the passion and innovative mindset that he has.
Living and Working Abroad as an Animal Lover from the Farm

If there’s one thing you should know about Tereza, it’s that she absolutely adores animals. Growing up on a small farm surrounded by horses, goats, rabbits, and chickens, animals have always been a big part of her life. Now living in Dresden, she is raising two dogs and still makes regular weekend trips back to her hometown – not only to spend time with her beloved animals but also to enjoy horseback riding, a hobby she’s been passionate about for almost 20 years!

Tereza says:
“One of the things I like about Dresden is that it has so many parks! It’s perfect for walking, especially with my dogs. Taking short walks helps me focus better and work more productively.”

Melting the Myth about Gen Z workers
According to Tereza, Gen Z seems to be often stereotyped as lacking a strong work ethic or being unwilling to take on responsibility. However, this perception doesn’t stand up to scrutiny when you look at individuals like Tereza herself. At Lipotype, she demonstrates commitment, professionalism, and a clear sense of purpose in her work. As she puts it, “I believe our generation is hardworking and capable. I think some young people are simply more open and communicative about where they place their values, because today’s world encourages authenticity and prioritizes individual well-being more than it did in the past.”
What the New Generation Values

Flexible working hours seem to be an important thing to not only Tereza but to many employees including the Gen Z workers. Having the ability to manage their time allows them to plan more effectively and maintain a healthy rhythm between personal life and professional responsibilities. Tereza also points out that based on what she has observed from her friends and former colleagues, compared to previous generations, Gen Z employees tend to invest more of their time in experiences such as attending concerts and events, traveling, and similar activities, so offering sufficient and usable vacation days might be attractive for Gen Z workers.
Tereza’s Advice for Gen Z Starting Their Careers
“Unlike being at school where you are surrounded by your peers most of the time, there are many people from different generations when you start working, which you will have to newly learn.
Also, don’t give up! The beginning is always the hardest, but it’s important to give yourself enough time to get used to the new environment and decide whether to explore a different path when it comes to your career journey. Focus on your growth, give yourself grace, and keep going!”
