The Annaert Lab has developed superparamagnetic iron oxide nanopartilces (SPIONs) for the isolation of ultrapure plasma membranes and lysosomes allowing subsequent high resolution profi ling of their biomolecular compositon. With its Shotgun Lipidomics technology, Lipotype delivered its one-of-a-kind, detailed, quantitative information on lipid structure and composition of cell culture samples and purifi ed cellular organelles. This fruitful collaboration between the Annaert Lab and Lipotype demonstrates the power of lipid analysis in cell biological research.
The Wim Annaert laboratory is focused on understanding the molecular biology of membrane transport in a disease-related context covering mainly Alzheimer’s disease.
